Valley Home Check is pleased to announce that we are offering pet care services for our home check clients. Clients can now leave their pets at home while away on vacation or for short-term
absences.
Adding pet care aligns with Valley Home Checks goal of becoming a complete home care
service provider.
VHC pet sitters are liability and Work Safe insured and have current criminal record checks on
file.
Please note, our services do not include overnight stays. Requests for overnight stays will be
referred to pet sitting providers that offer overnight pet sitting currently operating in our service
area.
Pet Care Services include but are not limited to:
- Sitting of traditional/exotic and domestic house pets. Note: VHC pet sitters will not live feed mice or other live animals/fish.
- Changing food & water.
- Playtime & exercise.
- Poop scoop, cleaning/refreshing litterboxes.
- Administering medication as directed by the pet owner or vet.
Rates and Services
Option 1: One twenty-minute visit
Includes: feeding, walking, administration of medications, TLC, play time, and
brushing.
Cost: $25
Option 2: Two twenty-minute visits daily
Includes: the same care as Option #1.
Cost: $40
Option 3: Three twenty-minute visits daily
Includes: the same care as Option #1.
Cost: $55
Dog Walking
Dogs must be leash trained and friendly with people and other dogs. Our pet sitters will
come to your home to meet your pet before arrangements are made for services.
Large dogs, fifty pounds or more, will be walked individually if there is more than one. A separate
fee will be applied to each dog.
Smaller dogs, fifty pounds or less, can be walked together up to a maximum of two dogs.
Home Checks
Home checks will be conducted by a VHC security licenced Home Check Specialist with a full
report sent to the client after each check.
Payment Options
Clients will be invoiced at the end of the month with payment due as soon as the invoice is
received.
Preferred payment method is e-transfer. Cash, check or credit cards are accepted. Credit cards
will be charged an additional $5 processing fee.
Meet the Valley Home Check pet care specialists
Carol
Carol came to the valley in 2004 with her husband from Whitehorse, Yukon. She previously worked in banking.
Carol volunteers with a local cat rescue and enjoys two cats of her own. She is comfortable administering medications. She has fostered many kittens and cats. She continues to socialize cats at a local cat shelter to get them ready for adoption and their forever home.
Jacquie
Jacqueline is a dedicated Education Assistant in the Comox Valley. Taking care of individuals, making sure they can enjoy and succeed in their day at school to the best of their ability. Jacqueline takes great interest in bringing the same kind of care to Valley Home Check for dog care. From a young age, Jacqueline has had a great passion for learning about all dog breeds and mixes. She has years of experience taking care of dogs big and small. She currently has a senior border collie kelpie mix rescue
named Trigger. Over the years, Trigger has taught many lessons to Jacqueline about unexpected behaviours with anxiety in dogs and how important it is that dogs get the exercise and attention they need to be a happy. Jacqueline understands that all dogs are different and have their own personality
and needs. She is very excited to make a connection with Valley Home Check clients and their furry friends.
